AliyasthoughtsSCD: Like a prisoner in your own body
Sickle cell can sometimes make you feel like a prisoner in your own body. Often your mind wants to do things that your body can’t physically do, and I mean simple things, everyday things. When I was a child and teen and in much better health I would do everything without even thinking about it, the consequences of it or how I might feel later which is the complete opposite of how I am now. I believe that the more frequently I got ill and the more time I spent in hospital and the more years it seemed to continue the more cautious and wary I became, I was prepared to do anything I had to if it meant not being in hospital. I find that although I can sometimes push myself through my aches and pains I am still not able to do all of the things I want to. Living in a cycle of bad health can be really crushing. .My #sicklecellfamily I pray for your health happiness hope and strength Alhumdulillah 🙏
