BDB Meets Action West London
New year, new you? – Why not?
The new year is the time to set new goals so BDB has connected with Action West London (AWL) in order to help support you in upskilling yourself as well as getting support toward your career and shaping the future which you want, as opposed to the typical work experience in places that you might not have a passion for.
As you know having Sickle Cell and perusing a career can be quite challenging due to the intermittent nature of the condition. AWL is an organisation that equips 16-24 year olds with the relevant employment skills in order to get you back into employment and the career of your choice.
Once in employment AWL continue to provide you with pastoral support, in order to ensure that both you and your employers needs are met and to ensure the sustainability of your position, as well as progression opportunities for yourself.
Moving On Up – A program designed specifically to support young black men who are NEETs (not in employment, education or training). (London -wide)
Gold – A program designed specifically to provide Great Opportunities for the youth with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.
Youth Talent – A program designed specifically to provide a bespoke service tailored to the individual learners needs.
The ‘MOVING ON UP’ & ‘GOLD’ programmes would be perfect for a person with sickle cell as you would not only receive all the adequate support for your conditions, but also a bespoke service that would be tailored to your needs.
So I ask again…new year, new you? – Why not?
